The Physician Office Phlebotomist collects blood and urine from patients of all ages in a manner which ensures maximum safety, expertise and comfort for the patient for laboratory tests. Will obtains blood specimens using methods appropriate to the age and condition of the patient. (Venipuncture, finger puncture, or heel puncture). The goal is for successful blood collection on first attempt. Proper specimen collection and preservation methods are used.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: HS diploma or equivalent education required.
Experience: Three years of related experience preferred.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: National Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Effective interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills required. Must have computer skills in order to enter data in to electronic medical record. Must successfully complete orientation and competency validation for position.
